Jessica and sister Ashlee Simpson are reportedly slowly coming to terms with the breakdown of their parents' marriage.

Joe and Tina Simpson have "amicably split" after 35 years together, but the story quickly turned last week when tabloid reports made claims Joe has had gay lovers and that is the reason for the split.

Radar Online notes that the National Enquirer has an article this week that features a 32-year-old gay man named Joey Anderson making more accusations of an affair.

The articles says Joey is "a New York City-based male escort who passed a polygraph test recounting a steamy three-hour tryst with Joe at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in May.

Tina Simpson filed for divorce papers in Texas on September 24, stating:

"The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities."

The couple put their $4.4 million mansion on the market earlier this month amid speculation they were living apart.

Joe Simpson hasn't said much about the scandal, but released a statement through a spokesman earlier.

"Tina and Joe Simpson have filed for divorce," a rep for the family said in a statement.

"It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time."
