Jessica Simpson turns to CaCee Cobb.

Jessica Simpson has asked best friend CaCee Cobb to be godmother of her baby daughter.

The 'Fashion Star' mentor - who gave birth to her first child, Maxwell Drew, on May 1 - has asked her long-time pal to play an important role in little Maxwell's life as the pair have shared so much together.

A source told In Touch magazine: ''CaCee and Jessica have been through so much together and Jessica loves her so much, it only made sense that she would ask her to be godmother.''

Jessica and her fiance Eric Johnson are busy planning Maxwell's baptism but can't decide to have it at their home in Beverly Hills or in Jessica's hometown of Waco, Texas.

As well as the baptism, Jessica and Eric are also organizing their wedding, which is set to take place on the Hawaiian island of Kauai on December 12.

A source said: ''Jessica and Eric are eyeing the Hawaiian island of Kauai for the reception for around 60 family and friends.''

The couple are said to have hired celebrity party planner Mindy Weiss for both bashes.

Jessica and Eric - who began dating in 2010 - had planned to get married last November but had to postpone the nuptials after discovering they were expecting Maxwell.
