Jian Ghomeshi: 8 Women Accuse CBC Host Sexual Violence, Including Actress Lucy DeCoutere
Jian Ghomeshi has been accused by eight women of various acts of sexual violence and though some have not made their names public, one of the accusers is actress Lucy DeCoutere, who stars as Lucy on Trailer Park Boys.
She did an interview on CBC where she described a violent encounter with Jian.
"He did take me by the throat, and pressed me against the wall and choked me," DeCoutere said during the radio interview.
She added, "And he did slap me across the face a couple of times. And that took me by surprise because that's something that I'd never had happen to me before."
She said she was too shocked to stop him saying, "I was really gobsmacked."
Lucy has been given support after airing her accusations as says on Twitter, "It is startling how much the conversations I have had over the last few days differ from those I had a week ago. Thanks for the kindness."
Another woman, Reva Seth, heard the interview with DeCoutere and also claims she was attacked by Ghomeshi and wrote a first person account for The Huffington Post.
She writes, "This morning, I listened to Lucy DeCoutere on The Current sharing her remarkably similar experience and calling for women to not be afraid to tell their own stories and, if they can, share their names. After much thought, I decided to answer her call. I hope it helps in some way."

Jian was fired and has filed a lawsuit, the one time CBC host is now suing the CBC for $55 million for defamation and breach of trust.
He answered on Facebook, saying in an earlier post that he would fight the charges and the rough sex was consensual.
Jian writes, "Today I was fired from the company where I've been working for almost 14 years – stripped from my show, barred from the building and separated from my colleagues. I was given the choice to walk away quietly and to publicly suggest that this was my decision. But I am not going to do that. Because that would be untrue. Because I’ve been fired. And because I've done nothing wrong.
He added, "I’ve been fired from the CBC because of the risk of my private sex life being made public as a result of a campaign of false allegations pursued by a jilted ex girlfriend and a freelance writer. As friends and family of mine, you are owed the truth.
