Joan Ressel, Customer Gives $10,000 Tip, Saves Restaurant
Joan Ressel says a customer gave a $10,000 tip and it saved the restaurant from closing. Joan is the owner of a restaurant in Pennsylvania and said she and her husband's breakfast and brunch business was given a reprieve from closing when they received a $10,000 tip from a customer and it saved them from going out of business.
The customer who wrote the huge check to save the restaurant said he was told by God to donate the money.
The generous man wishes to remain anonymous but told NBC 10 he prayed about it and decided to write the $10K check.
"I was in the car praying and a vision came upon me of this amount of money, and I heard that I was supposed to deliver a message and deliver the amount of money to them," the man said, according to the NBC report.
Ressel said she first tried to give the money back to the man, but he refused.
He added one request, he wanted her to 'pay it forward.'
Joan said she took the $10,00 tip "as a message from God that she had to overcome her struggles and continue running her business," according to WSMV.
