Joni Mitchell Taylor Swift Rift over Girls Like Us - Just a Girl with High Cheekbones
Joni MitchellTaylor Swift Rift? Joni calls Taylor nothing more than a girl with high cheekbones.
Iconic singer Joni Mitchell reveals she nixed any possible chance Taylor Swift would play her in the big-screen adaptation of Girls Like Us.
Sheila Weller's 2008 book 'Girls Like Us' tells the story of the lives of female music stars Joni, Carole King and Carly Simon and their impact on a generation of female musicians.
"I squelched that," Mitchell told The Sunday Times.
"I said to the producer, 'All you've got is a girl with high cheekbones.' It's just a lot of gossip, you don't have the great scenes." Mitchell added.
Swift hasn't commented on the verbal shot and was reportedly anxious to play the role of Joni Mitchell.
It was reported in 2012 that the movie was ready and Taylor had the role, but that was incorrect.
According to Rolling Stone, Swift revealed two years ago that there was a problem.
"That's actually not confirmed," Swift said in October 2012 when asked if she would play Mitchell. "I wish I could say it's confirmed! But the thing about movies that I've learned is – I've been reading scripts for five years, and you just don't know what ones are going to get greenlit and which ones aren't, so I can't talk about it unless it's the real thing."
For Thanksgiving today, Swift is looking forward to tucking into sweet potato casserole during her Thanksgiving meal.
The 24-year-old singer said the delicious snack is her favorite side dish to enjoy while celebrating the American holiday.
Talking to Robin Roberts on a holiday special called 'Thank You, America!' the 'Blank Space' hitmaker revealed she opts for mashed potatoes over stuffing, and prefers to top her turkey with canned cranberry sauce as opposed to a homemade alternative.
The pop star - who released her fifth studio album '1989' last month - will also be tucking into a sumptuous pumpkin pie; a dish she prefers to the baked sweet potato dish.
This morning (11.27.14), Taylor was seen celebrating in New York by performing her worldwide hit single 'Shake It Off' as part of the 54th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, which was broadcast on CBS.
The musician dressed in a bronze skirt and matching crop top, and rouged her lips for the occasion.
Other stars have also been performing in the city to mark the special day, with Nick Jonas, Sting, Meghan Trainor and Idina Menzel being amongst performers taking to the stage as part of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
