The Couple's Inspriation for Exercise? Love of Food

Julianne Hough loves working out with Ryan Seacrest.

The 'Rock of Ages' star admits she and her presenter boyfriend are both very competitive people so they spur one another on to push themselves harder.

She said: "It's motivating to work out with my boyfriend because we're both very competitive.

"We're very active, athletic people, so some of our favorite things to do are hike and work out."

As well as their passion for exercise, the couple also share a love of food and Julianne admits that is one of the reasons why she needs to do work out so much.

She told Britain's Glamour magazine: "My boyfriend is a total foodie and I love food.

"I don't know what I would do if I had to eat only protein and veggies for the rest of my life - I would not be a happy person - but at the same time I'm like, 'Man I need to work out!'"

The 23-year-old beauty tries to stay healthy but doesn't deprive herself of sweet treats.

She said: "If I deprive myself, I'll just end up waiting all day and then stuffing myself with cookies right before bed.

"There are snacks you can get that are not the most healthy, but if I'm craving a little bit of chocolate or sugar, there's a chocolate-covered almond and cranberry mix, so I'll get a handful of those and have them for my dessert."
