A Wonder Woman catfight? It is being reported that British actress Kate Beckinsale is also in the running with American teen Lindsay Lohan to star in the newest version of Josh Whedon's upcoming comic book film Wonder Woman.

Kate is the obvious choice - right?

A report from the UK details that the Brit is in negotiations with Whedon, according to movie gossip website joblo.com.

Contact music is reporting that insiders claim Whedon is "very happy" with Beckinsale and have confirmed that production on his highly anticipated movie adaptation of the popular comic book series will begin filming in early September.

The web site reports they are lining up for a shot at the role that beautiful Lynda Carter made famous.

Buffy stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Charisma Carpenter, along with la Lohan have been linked to the coveted role.

Former hot favorite Carpenter even remarked she was putting off having a second baby in the hope of landing the dream role.

She recently told a reporter, "I'd like to (have another baby) eventually, but I want Wonder Woman right now. "I'm not holding my breath, but I'm crossing my fingers and toes and praying."
