Royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton are flying back to the UK after completing their successful inaugural tour as a married couple.

And the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are travelling on a regular commercial flight.

They boarded a British Airways plane in Los Angeles for the overnight flight back to London, with the couple and their entourage taking up quite a few seats in the front of first class.

William and Kate, both 29, whose tour has taken them from Canada to the west coast of the US, posed on the steps of the aircraft, still smiling at the end of their busy schedule.

After attending a Bafta dinner, the couple saw another side of Los Angeles as they visited a project for kids living in poverty and a jobs fair for war veterans.
