Singer Katy Perry (pictured) has topped the new Maxim Hot 100 list, beating off competition from Megan Fox. The 25-year-old singer came top of the new list after beating Sports Illustrated cover girl Brooklyn Decker to number two and Avatar star Zoe Saldana to number three.

Other stars whom she beat include Taylor Swift, Megan Fox, Britney Spears and Blake Lively.

Joe Levy, editor in chief of Maxim, said to ABC News: "It's that feeling you get when you suddenly realise that the smartest, funniest, coolest girl you know also happens to be the best-looking and a pretty good skateboarder, too."


More Katy news...Perry has shared some of the details about her upcoming wedding to British comedian Russell Brand. The US singer says the ceremony "will be small" followed by "a big, fat reception for the people who can't make it".

On the question of who will design her dress, the I Kissed A Girl chart-topper explained: "We have been kind of talking to [John] Galliano because that was the first [fashion] show in Paris that we kind of came out as a couple.

"So if we did Galliano, it would make it full circle."

Guests can also expect to be “taken out of their comfort zone”, Perry revealed. “We don't necessarily want it to be a drunk fest of people just, you know, one night and then forgetting about it," she says. "We want it to be about the love. So sometimes to be about the love, we have to take them out of their comfort zone," she told People magazine.
