LA Law: Lindsay Lohan Scolded - Maria Shriver Apologizes
Oct 16, 2009
LA Law (or at least swift California celebrity justice from TMZ.Com) nailed Maria Shriver, the wife of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. She says she's sorry and now she has a driver so she can talk on the cell phone without breaking the law. She was caught in photos on a hand held phone while driving, a no-no according to California law. More legal news from the celebrity circuit, Partygirl Lindsay Lohan has been hit with an extra year of probation and ordered to get serious about her alcohol education program.

The troubled starlet, 23, appeared in a Beverly Hills courtroom on Friday after a judge was told she had missed classes and may be in violation of her probation.
Offenders are not normally required to attend such hearings but an exception was made in Lohan's case as it was possible that the actress could have been punished with a jail sentence.

The case relates to the struggling star's 2007 drunken driving conviction. During the hearing, Lohan's attorney Shawn Campbell Holley told Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel that the Mean Girls actress had been hard at work when she missed the class.
She was filming a movie in Texas for three weeks and had been unable to attend. She added that now Lohan had finished filming, she could return to attend classes in Los Angeles. Lohan's excuses were accepted and she dodged prison. But the judge slapped an extra year onto her probation term and scolded her for not notifying the court and obtaining permission before leaving the jurisdiction.
