Lady Gaga, A-Rod - Connected at the Hip?
Lady Gaga and A-Rod (Alex Rodriguez) are connected at the hip by a world class surgeon.
The pop star and New York Yankees Major League Baseball player both have been forced to go under the knife for hip surgery recently and Gaga is only fresh off the operating table this week.
A report from the NY Post reveals Lady Gaga got some help from a friendly A-Rod at the doctor's office, right before her surgery on Wednesday.
Gaga underwent surgery on her bad hip this week and the paper reveals she and A-Rod share the same top surgeon, Dr. Bryan Kelly, at New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery.
As it happens in the small town of Manhattan, the two mega rich stars were simultaneously arriving at the doctor's office this week and Rodriguez lent a kind word of encouragement.
“Alex was at Dr. Kelly’s office for a follow-up, while Gaga was preparing for surgery,” said a source close to the singer.
“It’s natural for anyone to be nervous ahead of this type of surgery, especially as a performer or athlete under tremendous pressure to make a quick recovery and be back at peak performance . . . Gaga was anxious, but Alex talked to her for a while and was able to reassure her.”
Awww.
Following the operation, Gaga took to Twitter and though she didn't mention A-Rod, she did thank her fans for giving her the strength to get through her ordeal and put her problems in perspective.
In an open letter to fans, she wrote: "Thank You Monsters, You really gave me a lot of strength today. Everything happened so fast, but when it came time to face it I reflected on the many stories and experiences you've shared with me about your lives. Meeting you backstage, reading your letters, watching you communicate with fans from around the globe to form a community that supports one another--You have completely blown my mind.
"As they wheeled me into surgery today, I thought about all of your pain and perseverance, your unique family situations, school environments, health issues, homelessness, identity struggles - sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me. I wonder how it's even possible.
"So I thought to myself, I'm alive, I'm living my dream, and this is just a bump in the road. I'm grateful because this is temporary, and for some it is not. You have changed my life. I love you and am proud to be a part of your lives. If you can do it, I can do it too, and if we stick together we can get through anything."
