Khloe Kardashian's husband Lamar Odom almost missed her birthday celebrations.

The 'Khloe & Lamar' star turned 28 on Wednesday (06-27-12) and her basketball player spouse, Lamar planned on ringing in the special day with her by spending the previous night at their Los Angeles home.

However the sportsman's flight to California was delayed, leaving him to arrive later than desired.

She tweeted: ''My hubby's flight got canceled back to L.A. . . . Aww, man! At least I'll see him in the morning!''

Khloe received plenty of birthday wishes via her micro-blogging website account.

Her E! television co-star and best friend Khadijah McCray wrote: ''Happy Birthday @KhloeKardashian You're a diamond in the rough, a golden heart, selfless being, a REAL person and my best friend! Love you!''

Meanwhile her older sister Kim Kardashian wrote: ''Happy birthday Khloball!''

Additionally rapper Nicki Minaj sent her a special message.

She tweeted: ''Happy Birthday sexy face!''

Khloe replied: ''Thank you so much my Queen Roman!''

As well as receiving custom-made balloons for her special day, she was also treated by her partner to a special birthday surprise.

She shared on twitter: ''Heading to a Birthday surprise from my hubby :)''
