Lance Armstrong TV Interview Air Date - On Oprah Jan. 17 on OWN and Oprah.com
Lance Armstrong was banned from cycling for life last year and the UCI agreed to strip all 7 titles from the American cyclist.
He has always denied doping, but now will finally admit some form of cheating during the Oprah Winfrey interview scheduled to air later this week, according to reports.
Apparently this much is true: Armstrong admits that he used performance-enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France.
CNN cites ABC News, the New York Times and USA Today, who cite unnamed sources and reported Monday night that the former cyclist finally admitted to using steroids during an interview he and Winfrey taped Monday night in Armstrong's hometown of Austin, Texas.
Where and when will Lance offer up his quasi-confession that he cheated?
When: Thursday, Jan. 17 at 9:00 p.m. ET and Friday, Jan. 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET
Watch: OWN Network (Check cable or satellite listings for channel number)
Replay: Thursday, Jan. 17 at 10:30 p.m. ET (First half of interview); Friday, Jan. 18 at 11:00 p.m. ET (Second half of interview)
The Chicago Tribune has an editorial titled: "Armstrong Spins on Oprah" with this conclusion:
"By week's end, we'll know what questions were asked and answered. Maybe Armstrong shared enough to win back some of the crestfallen cycling fans who believed in him long after they should've known better. The rest of us aren't going to be convinced until he tells his story, and all of it, on the witness stand — not on the Oprah Winfrey Network."
What should happen to Lance next?
What about that $100 million he made by cheating?
