Lauren Bacall Dead at 89 - Cause of Death a 'Massive Stroke'
Legendary actress Lauren Bacall has died in New York of a ''massive stroke'' at her home in New York on Tuesday, she was 89 years old.
The estate of her late husband Humphrey Bogart confirmed the news on Twitter, writing: ''With deep sorrow, yet with great gratitude for her amazing life, we confirm the passing of Lauren Bacall.''
A member of the late 'The Big Sleep' star's family told gossip website TMZ.com she died of a massive stroke at her home on Tuesday morning.
One of the leading ladies of the Golden Age of Hollywood, Lauren starred in a string of acclaimed movies, including 'How to Marry a Millionaire,' 'Designing Woman,' 'Key Largo' and 'The Mirror Has Two Faces,' after which she married her co-star Humphrey in 1945.
The couple, who had a son, Stephen, and a daughter, Leslie, were together until his death in 1957.
The blonde beauty later went on to date Frank Sinatra before marrying Jason Robards in 1961, with whom she had one son, Sam, before their divorce in 1969.
Lauren, who received an Honorary Academy Award for her work in 2009, recently appeared on an episode of 'Family Guy' and is rumoured to have a role in the upcoming film, 'Trouble Is My Business.'
