Critics' Choice Movie Awards - 2013 Nominations List

Daniel Day Lewis and Steven Spielberg

The list of nominations for the 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards have been released and Lincoln leads with 13 nominations.

That is a record-breaking number and the biopic of former US president Abraham Lincoln - which stars Daniel Day Lewis in the title role - is up for a range of awards including Best Picture, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Director for Steven Spielberg and Best Actor, taking over the previous nomination record of 12, which was set by 'Black Swan' in 2010.

'Les Miserables' has also done well, taking 11 nominations, while the Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence-starring romantic comedy 'Silver Linings Playbook' is up for 10 awards.

The latter film's two stars picked up the most acting nominations, with them up for three awards apiece, while Dame Judi Dench and 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' star Quvenzhane Wallis, nine, each gained two nods.

Broadcast Film Critics Association president Joey Berlin said: ''This has been a truly spectacular year in filmmaking and our voters had an embarrassment of riches to choose from.

''To recognise the remarkable achievements across every genre of filmmaking we have added several new categories this year, including often overlooked performances in comedy and action.''

The 18th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards will be held in Santa Monica on January 10.
