Lindsay Lohan, Cops Fight Over Miranda and Meanness
Lindsay Lohan and LA cops are in a debate over Miranda rights and her treatment after one of her car crashes in 2012.
Her new attorney is Mark Heller and TMZ says he is busy making a few filings in a California court to try to get Lindsay off on a technicality after her June 2012 car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway.
According to TMZ, none of the measures so far have a very good chance of succeeding, and they paint a picture of a bumbling out-of-state lawyer making strange filings for the state of California.
Lindsay says the cops were really mean to her as well.
The new lawyer Heller makes the claims for LiLo saying the troubled actress "asked for a lawyer when she was interviewed by cops after her June car crash ... but they told her no and then grilled her like a cheeseburger."
"Heller says in his docs cops told Lindsay she was not free to leave and if she refused to answer their questions "it would be worse for her." Heller says Lindsay was also suspected of DUI ... he says they gave her the One-Leg Stand Test at the hospital and she passed!"
However, law enforcement sources spill to TMZ that Lohan had her entertainment lawyer present for questioning and they also think she lied about driving the vehicle.
More Lilo woes...
Lohan has been hit by another bill for unpaid taxes.
The troubled 'Liz & Dick' actress - who was previously served with demands for unpaid federal taxes of $93,701.57 and $140,203.30 for 2009 and 2010 respectively by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) - has been sent a bill from the state of California, who claim she owes $56,717.90 for unpaid income tax dating back to 2011, gossip website TMZ has revealed.
Lindsay was helped to pay part of her previous tax bill by her 'Scary Movie 5' co-star Charlie Sheen.
The 'Anger Management' star gave the actress $100,000 after she allegedly didn't receive all the money she was supposed to be paid for her part in 'Scary Movie 5'.
The actor has repeatedly praised Lindsay - who has endured a multitude of legal problems and has battled substance abuse issues in recent years - and is confident she will get her life on track.
The reformed hellraiser - who also offered to pay half for the dress she wore to the amfAR Gala earlier this month - previously said: "She's terrific, I mean she's going through a lot of stuff. But she's smart and super fabulous and I think will come out on top eventually."
