Lisa Ling, a former co-host on The View, has tattooed her lower calf in honor of her sister, one of two Americans being held in a North Korean prison. In a video, Ling displayed the small tattoo of a dove and admitted it was her first tattoo - and that it hurt.

"I'm not going to lie, i definitely didn't feel good, but right now, my sister is going through a challenging time. I just sort of sat there and took the pain and I said to myself, 'I'm going to take this for Laura.' It totally got me through it."


Journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee were sentenced to 12 years' jail after crossing into North Korea from China. Ling was reportedly working on a documentary about female trafficking for Al Gore's Current TV. "My sister was trying to tell a story," Lisa Ling said. She said she and the women's supporters were trying to raise awareness of their plight.

"There are two Americans who are being held in North Korea who desperately want to come home to families that miss them," she said, directing supporters to an online petition.
