Fashion News - Macy's goes Material Girl with Madge as Madonna will join with the American retail store to provide a teen clothing line that will be featured in 200 stores nationwide just in time for back-to-school shopping.

According to MSNBC News, "The collection, which will be called "The Material Girl" and will also include jewelry, footwear and handbags, was inspired and designed in collaboration with Madonna and her daughter Lourde." More here on the joint venture.


More Madonna buzz...on US television last week tempers flared as twice-divorced pop star weighed in with her views on married couples' real-life domestic disputes in new US TV show The Marriage Ref.

The Material Girl, who split with Guy Ritchie in 2008, pointed her finger and raised her voice as she and Brit comic Ricky Gervais argued with the "Ref". On the show, the pair get the hump when they realize the Ref - US comic Tom Papa - has the power to ignore the votes of the celebrity panel on whether the husband or wife wins the argument.


Madonna shouted: "It's two against two!" after Papa sides against her and Gervais. Papa, who took the side of fellow panel member and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David, told her: "I have the final say." Gervais asked: "What are we here for? It was two to one! Why does he get the final vote?"

Papa said: "You're the advisers, but I make the ruling." But defiant Madonna refused to back down and hit back on the show saying: "Why? You're not the panel."


The new show features celebrity panelists, including Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria Parker. It was created by US comic Jerry Seinfeld, who introduced the clip featuring Madonna during an appearance on Oprah Winfrey's chat show.

Seinfeld's wife Jessica was in the audience as he told how he came up with the idea after asking a mutual friend to rule on one of the couple's arguments. The Marriage Ref rules on disputes such as whether a horny husband should be allowed to install a stripper pole at home to put the passion back into his marriage.
