Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Looking to Expand the Label

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have hired Prada's US president and CEO to head up their label The Row.

The fashion design duo say they chose FranCois Kress for the newly developed post at their company because they are looking to expand the brand.

Mary-Kate told WWD: "He quickly became the obvious choice for us and for the brand, having experience in multiple categories which we feel is essential for growth of The Row."

Ashley added: "His experience and sensibility will add great value to The Row in its next phase of development."

While a start date has not yet been announced, Mr. Kress - who previously worked for Bulgari Corporation and LVMH [Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton] before joining Prada in early 2010 - will report to the Olsens as well as Jill Collage, president of Dualstar Entertainment Group.

Thie siblings launched The Row in 2007 after they struggled to find the perfect T-shirt. Since then, they have expanded to create a complete designer sportswear collection and added accessories categories such as sunglasses and handbags.

They also own labels Elizabeth and James and Olsenboye.
