Mayim Bialik Talks About Attachment Parenting - Alanis Morissette Will Breastfeed Until Son is Ready to Quit
Mayim Bialik of the Big Bang Theory and Blossom talked about attachment parenting with Anderson Cooper recently and fellow celebrity Alanis Morissette has admitted she will breastfeed until her son is six.
Time magazine's cover story about attachment parenting last month brought on the confessions from the celebrity moms and both try to convince everyone that it is not weird to breastfeed and sleep with your kids all the way up to as they head off for kindergarten and elementary school.
Bialik told host Anderson Cooper that her children will most likely share her bed with her until they are between 5 and 7 years old.
"We have two beds on the floor next to each other. And honestly, there is a natural desire for independence at night that does come," Bialik said.
"Most adults, you know, do not want to sleep alone - it's not normal. It is normal to be close to someone who loves you at night. There's nothing weird about it."
Once known as the angry white female, mom Alanis Morissette says she will breastfeed for years with one child.
An earlier report reveals she still breastfeed her sixteen month old son and "believes attachment parenting is important for the youngster's well-being and believes continuing to feed him naturally until he is ready to stop is the best thing for his long-term emotional welfare."
From the report:
She said: ''I'm an attachment parent. I breastfeed and I'll be breastfeeding until my son is finished and he weans.
''I think it affords the child, when he grows up, to have a lot less therapy to go to. For me, I protect his safety and his well-being and his attachment. That stage of development is a very important stage.''

Alanis also admitted Ever sleeps alongside her in bed.
She told 'Access Hollywood': ''We're definitely skin-on-skin connected as much as possible.''
However, despite her dedication to attachment parenting - which encourages constant contact between parent and child - the 'Ironic' singer insists it doesn't stop her finding the time to be intimate with her husband.
She said: ''He's a very robust virile man. You gotta take care of your husband.''
What do you think of moms who breastfeed and sleep with their sons until six or seven or even older?
Mayim says there's nothing weird about it - do you agree?
