Real Housewives of Washington, DC babe Michaele Salahi and hubby Tareq Salahi versus Whoopi Goldberg is the hot topic of the day after a heated exchange was rumored to have elevated into a physical attack at "The View" backstage.

Michaele Salahi vs. Whoopi Goldberg: Real Housewives of DC Babe Attacked, Fight Got Physical?

According to the LA Times, the incident that kicked off the newest furor occurred Wednesday, when Salahi and her fellow castmates appeared on "The View" to promote their Bravo show.


According to the AP, View co-host Whoopi Goldberg wanted Salahi to discuss the night she and her husband allegedly crashed President Barack Obama's state dinner last fall (see photo).

The wire service reports as she spoke to her, Goldberg could be seen by viewers touching Salahi's arm.


The LA Times has a video report and adds: "According to the Salahis' attorney, Lisa Bloom, Salahi was "unnerved" when Goldberg came up to her on stage and felt demeaned and degraded by the whole experience because of the frequent references that she was a gate crasher."

The report claims the dramatic encounter brought Salahi to tears.


USA Today's headline says it all: "Whoopi: 'No apology' for 'choice words' she gave Michaele Salahi."

On the NBC Today Show, Salahi explained being berated by Goldberg: "I walked off the show and said goodbye and was in the back. And Whoopi came in and said, 'F this, f that, Did you say I effing hit you?"

Whoopi reiterated on the show: "I make no apology for my choice words."
