A major US highway was closed after Miley Cyrus's tour bus overturned and killed one person - believed to be the driver. Hannah Montana star Miley, 16, was not on the bus at the time, according to local reports.

Interstate 85 just outside Dinwiddie, about 40 miles south of Richmond, in Virginia, was shut by police following the accident.

A police spokesman told MSNBC news the bus was one of four traveling together after the singer's two-show stint Wednesday and Thursday in Long Island, N.Y. The group was heading to Greensboro, N.C.


A local television station reported that 10 people were on board the coach when it crashed and flipped over onto its side. The incident happened near a rest area.

At this time Miley is still set to perform in concert on Sunday evening at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
