Miley Cyrus' love interest on 'Two and a Half Men' had no idea she was joining the show.

While it was confirmed yesterday (8/27) that Miley will play Missi ''an old family friend of Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher) who comes to visit for a week and develops a relationship with Jake Harper when he comes home from the army'', Angus T. Jones - who plays Jake - admitted he wasn't told of the latest development.

He explained to E! News: ''Honestly, they don't tell me anything of what the future shows are going to be. I'm on a need to know basis. But if that's what's going to happen, it will be cool.

''I've met her a few times before and it would be fun to work with her.

''Whatever it's going to be, it's going to be interesting.''

Miley - who made her name on 'Hannah Montana' - is set to guest star in two upcoming episodes of the CBS sitcom.

This will be a return to the small screen for Miley, who has starred in movies 'LOL' and 'So Undercover' since the Disney show finished last year.

'Two and a Half Men' returns to US screens on September 27 at 8:30 p.m.
