What do Mimi Rogers, Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman all have in common?

The are in the Tom Cruise ex-wives club.

Katie Holmes has filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, asking for sole possession of daughter Suri and the pair are headed for divorce.

Now MSNBC takes an interesting look at the numbers of all three women now (or soon to-be) in the ex-wives club, Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman and now Katie.

The discovery - all were 33 years old when they split from Cruise.

All were 34 years old when the divorce was finalized.

Mimi Rogers became the first wife in 1987 and was 33 when their marriage fell apart and Mimi was 34 when their divorce was finalized.

Cruise then married Nicole Kidman, 23, in December of 1990, and then separated in 2001, when Kidman was 33.

Nicole was 34 when the divorce was final.

Katie Holmes was 28 when she became the third wife and she's 33 now.

If their divorce goes through after December, she'll be 34 when she's officially free.

Another report notes that Cruise has said he is “deeply saddened” to be splitting from Katie.

The 49-year-old actor has confirmed he is upset about the demise of his five year marriage but is focusing on his children Connor, 17 and Isabella, 19 from his relationship with Nicole Kidman and his six-year-old daughter Suri.

His representative said in a statement: “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy.”

Meanwhile, insiders close to the situation claim former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star Katie wanted to split from Tom – who has been married twice before - because she wants to “amp up her career”.

A source told RadarOnline.com: “Katie just wants to live out of the spotlight of Tom. She wants to focus on her acting career, which has taken a backseat since her marriage.

“She is currently filming a movie and has another project lined up and she wants to amp up her career another notch, which she has struggled to do the past few years.”
