Miss USA Contestant Says to Yahoo TV, 'Rigging Comment Was a Joke' But Another Woman Comes Forward
A Miss USA contestant who was the source for the 'rigging comment' (an accusation the contest was fixed in advance with a pre-chosen winner) told Yahoo TV that the comment was a joke, only meant to lighten the mood of a hotly contested contest.
Miss Pennsylvania USA Sheena Monnin first accused the Donald Trump-owned Miss USA pageant of rigging the competition last week.
According to Yahoo TV, Miss Florida USA Karina Brez was the contestant who told Monnin she had seen a list of the Top 5 before the show even started.
But in a new statement last week, Brez explained that her comment to Monnin was meant as a joke.

"Backstage during the Pageant, I did see a piece of paper with names on it, and like most people in such frenetic circumstances, joked that they must be the names of the final contestants. It was a throwaway comment, in the stress of the pageant, and was never meant as a fact. The list I saw didn't even have the eventual winner on it."
But now another woman has come forward...
Fox News reported on Wednesday an unnamed beauty contestant also claims to have heard the finalists names before they should have been known.
“I saw Florida backstage and she was very, very flustered and upset. I thought it might be because she didn’t make the top 15 cut, but at that point she was able to reveal to me at least four of the five names who went on to be the top girls,” the contestant, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FOXNews.com exclusively.
“She couldn’t remember the fifth because she was so upset," the woman added.
The Yahoo report notes "the claim has been denied by the Miss Universe Organization -- which puts on the Miss USA pageant -- and its co-owner Donald Trump, who retaliated by filing a lawsuit against Monnin to pursue all 'legal rights and remedies, including monetary damages' for her 'ongoing defamatory statements.'"
