Mix: Pink Dolphin (Photos) Asteroid 2009 DD45 Near Miss, Spinal Tap Tour

Where do you find a pink dolphin? In Lake Calcasieu, Erik Rue has snapped a photo of a pink dolphin in Louisiana. The earth took a near miss this week. While you were sleeping the asteroid named 2009 DD45 was about 48,800 miles from Earth. According to ABC News, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory reported that the asteroid zoomed past Monday morning. The eclectic mix can't leave out the Spinal Tap Tour.

According to an item from the UK Telegraph, "The animal has been photographed by local charter boat Captain Erik Rue, 42, who has been studying the dolphin since it first surfaced in Lake Calcasieu, an inland saltwater estuary, north of the Gulf of Mexico in the south-west of the United States."
