Natalie Portman Bumps Angelina Jolie for Cuaron 'Gravity', Woman Stranded Alone

Natalie Portman will be the woman stranded alone in space trying to get back home to her daughter in Cuaron's 3D 'Gravity'. Natalie will replace Angelina Jolie as the lead character in the survival story.

Robert Downey Jr. has supporting role in the project.
The film is about survival in space ion the most trying of circumstances, and cost $80 million to make. According to Cinema Blend the film will be about the same as Avatar as far as graphics and "will be 60% CGI."

It is a 3D survival story centered on the Portman character. She is stranded on a space station after satellite debris crashes into it and kills most of the crew.

It is described as a "contemporary survival thriller that follows a woman as she attempts to make her way back to earth after a satellite crash sets off a chain reaction of further crashes."
Deadline reveals the script for Gravity had been developed originally at Universal with the intention of having Angelina Jolie play the female role. With Jolie passing, Portman will spend "much of the film is devoted to her struggle to get back to Earth and her daughter."
