NFL sex questions?

The National Football League rookie combine is designed to give possible incoming rookies to the league an opportunity to show off their athletic and cerebral abilities to team officials who may want to draft them.

They are put through a variety of skill set tests on the field and teams ask lots of strange questions - many of them on the infamous Wonderlic test.

But one question this week that is linked to the Manti Te'o fake girlfriend scandal has the NFL scratching its head.

Many have speculated that Te'o is gay and NFL teams apparently want to know exactly who he may be sleeping with.

A report from ESPN notes that even though Te' o didn't reveal any improper questions, University of Colorado tight end Nick Kasa told ESPN Radio Denver that he was asked a series of questions that touched on sexual orientation at the just-completed combine in Indianapolis.

"[Teams] ask you like, 'Do you have a girlfriend?' 'Are you married?' 'Do you like girls?' " Kasa said in the radio interview.

"Those kinds of things, and you know it was just kind of weird. But they would ask you with a straight face, and it's a pretty weird experience altogether."

The NFL doesn't like that and released a statement:

"Teams are expected to follow applicable federal, state and local employment laws."

"It is league policy to neither consider nor inquire about sexual orientation in the hiring process. In addition, there are specific protections in our collective bargaining agreement with the players that prohibit discrimination against any player, including on the basis of sexual orientation," the league said.

"We will look into the report on the questioning of Nick Kasa at the scouting combine. Any team or employee that inquires about impermissible subjects or makes an employment decision based on such factors is subject to league discipline."
