Nick, Aaron Carter Pay Tribute to Late Sister Leslie Carter
Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter has dedicated the group's forthcoming tour to his late sister.
The singer - who is due to go on the road with the boy band later this spring - made the gesture following the sudden death of his sister Leslie Carter, aged 25, in New York Tuesday (01-31-12).
Nick said: "Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform."
His publicist Jack Ketsoyan told MailOnline: "Nick is thankful to the many people and the fans who have shared their wishes and prayers during this tragic time. We want to let the fans know the tour will go on as promised."
Nick's brother Aaron Carter - who is now set to take leave from starring in off-Broadway production 'The Fantasticks' - also paid tribute to his sister by posting a message on her Facebook page.
He wrote: "RIP MY DEAREST SISTER....! I LOVE U AND YOU THE ONE THAT ALWAYS ROCKS. LOVE AARON UR LIL BRO U CALL LL AC. (sic)"
An autopsy has been performed on Leslie's body, and the medical examiner found "no visible signs of trauma".
Coroner Richard Mackowiak, of the Chautauqua County Coroner's Office, told E!: "We are awaiting a toxicology report to determine a cause of death. There were no visible signs of trauma.
"The body has been released to the family. Results of the toxicology test are made public at the discretion of the family."
The toxicology report is expected to take between four and six weeks to complete.
The Carter family previously said in a statement to 'Access Hollywood': "Our family is grieving right now and it's a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter.
"We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time."
As well as Nick and Aaron, Leslie also had a musical career. Her single 'Like Wow!' featured on the soundtrack to 2001 animated movie 'Shrek' and she signed a record deal with Dreamworks in 1999 but a planned album was never released.
She leaves behind her husband Mike Ashton - who she married in 2008 - and their 10-month-old daughter Alyssa Jane Ashton.
