Nicolas Cage plans to pay back money he owes to the IRS. The actor recently had a tax lien slapped on his real estate holdings that included $6.7 million from 2008.

He said: "Over the course of my career I have paid at least $70 million in taxes. Unfortunately, due to a recent legal situation, another approximate $14 million is owed to the IRS."


In an exclusive statement to People, he said: "However, I am under new business management and am happy to say that I am current for 2009, all taxes will be paid including any to be determined state taxes."

Cage was last month slapped with a $13 million lawsuit from the mother of his son, Christina Fulton.

She earlier blamed Cage's financial collapse on the actor's "compulsive, self-destructive spending". He also faces at least one other lawsuit for at least $36.7 million from Red Curb Investments.
