No Kobe Bryant Divorce - Vanessa Nursing NBA Star Back to Health After 'Dangerous Play'
There will be no Kobe Bryant divorce from wife Vanessa Bryant and it is a good thing, his loving wife may have to nurse the NBA superstar back to health after an injury last night.
Kobe has a severely sprained ankle and will be out indefinitely after a 'dangerous play' by Dahntay Jones left Kobe rolling on the court in pain with his teammates looking on.
Vanessa Bryant (@LadyVB24) posted the above X-ray image on Instagram after last night's Los Angeles Lakers game where Kobe's team lost to the Atlanta Hawks 96-92.
USA Today reveals that the ankle is not broken, but Kobe suffered a "severe left ankle sprain" during last night's game when he rose up for a jumper from the right baseline with three seconds left that would have tied the game.
He missed the shot and when he came down to the floor, he landed on the foot of Dahntay Jones and fell to the floor.
X-rays were negative, but Bryant told reporters it was his worst sprain since the 2000 season.
Was the play dirty?
After the game, Bryant told reporters that Jones "Jalen Rose'd me," a reference to a similar play on which he sprained his ankle in the 2000 NBA Finals.
On Twitter, Kobe wrote, "#dangerousplay that should have been called. Period."
Dahntay (@dahntay1) answered back:
"Tape doesn't lie. Ankle was turned on the floor after the leg kick out that knocked him off balance. I would never try to hurt the man."
This may cost the Lakers the playoffs, and LA won't play Atlanta again until next season, but Kobe still wants payback even if he has to wait.
"I can’t get my mind past the fact that I’ve got to wait a year to get revenge," he said.
