Nurse Left Suicide Note - Jacintha Saldanha Wrote to Husband, Family
Nurse Jacintha Saldanha left a suicide note for her husband and family, a report has revealed.
Jacintha Saldanha is thought to have taken her own life days after she passed on a prank call from two Australian DJs impersonating Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles at the King Edward VII Hospital.
The call led to intimate details of the pregnant Duchess' condition being given away while she stayed at the hospital undergoing treatment for acute morning sickness.
The NY Daily News reveals that "after the prank made headlines, Saldanha's body was found in her apartment three days later."
Reports say she hanged herself, but it's still unclear when she may have died or what the suicide note to her family revealed.
Jacintha's 49-year-old husband said he was "devastated" by her death while her 14-year-daughter Lisha posted on Facebook: "I miss you. I love you."
She also had a 16-year-old son, Junal.
Prince William and Duchess Catherine released a statement earlier:
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jacintha Saldanha. Their Royal Highnesses were looked after so wonderfully well at all times by everybody at King Edward VII Hospital, and their thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha's family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time."
