Oops! $23 Quadrillion Credit Card Bill - Blame Wolfgang Puck?
Jul 16, 2009
A $23 quadrillion credit card bill? Josh Muszynski has one. So does Jon Seale. Can we blame Wolfgang Puck? Not quite but he does get a mention. For the record the number looks like this, $23,148,855,308,184,500.00. NBC from Dallas-Fort Worth gives us some assistance with the number. Say it this way, '23 quadrillion,148 trillion, 855 billion, 308 million, 184 thousand and 500 dollars'.
While many are a bit stunned when they open their bill at the end of the month to see how much they owe Seale laughed it off. "For that amount of money, I could actually own Wolfgang Puck himself," he said.
According to a report from Fox News, Visa said it was a glitch that only affected some customers with prepaid cards, according to the Web site. Video is at Right Celebrity and photos and more ate NBC News.
"A temporary programming error at Visa Debit Processing Services caused some transactions to be inaccurately posted to a small number of Visa prepaid accounts," Visa spokeswoman Elvira Swanson said in a written statement. "The technical glitch has been corrected, and all erroneous postings have been removed.”
