The report claimed that among other things, "potential 2012 presidential candidate Sarah Palin says that if she were president, she would deport pop star Christina Aguilera for botching a portion of The Star-Spangled Banner during her performance at Super Bowl XLV."

According to Gossip Cop, the magazine's website ran with the story, which was a false story and satire from supertuesdaynews.com.

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell has offered his trademark blunt opinion when asked about Christina Aguilera's Super Bowl performance.

The singer fluffed her lines whilst singing the national anthem before the game on Sunday and Cowell, 51, spared no punches when asked for his thoughts.

He told Fox News, "Well I just heard it then and it sounded like a 100,000 people in a stadium had just sat on a cat.

"Obviously she is regretting it now. She must be. I'm listening to it here in London and it didn't sound great to me, but to mess the words up? Not great. "But I always say this - this is what happens when you perform in front of an audience - even someone as experienced as Christina. You can get it wrong. That was bad."
