About that whole NFL Captain Morgan campaign, oops, it's been shipwrecked. The scene that led to the stern warning from the league unfolded when Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Donovan McNabb last weekend during a National Football League game and decided to strike a pose. It wasn't like Madonna, it was strikingly similar to the familiar ad campaign for Captain Morgan rum.

NBC Dallas Ft. Worth cites a report on Yahoo! Sports that makes the claim that a "bounty" is being promoted for players who pull of the pose on camera during a game. In other words, they would get a bit of compensation for pulling off a "Captain' during the game.


The report claims the going rate for doing the "Captain" is "$10,000 for the regular season, $25,000 for playoffs, and $100,000 for the Super Bowl." Did Brent Celek collect? He played dumb and says no.
