Paris Hilton is likely going to do some time in the Los Angeles county lock up. The 26-year-old socialite was sentenced to 45 days in prison by Judge Michael T. Sauer at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday, after she was found guilty of violating her probation on an alcohol-related reckless driving charge. However, it may be for a month and a half, and it may be for only a few hours depending on the crowding at the jail. Either way, the Hilton's are not happy.

Paris Hilton Claim: It's Cruel and Unusual Punishment

The day after she was sentenced to 45 days in the slammer for violating her probation by driving with a suspended license, Hilton walked outside her house and told a gaggle of camera people, "I told the truth yesterday. I feel that I was treated unfairly." Hilton called the sentence "both cruel and unwarranted" and added "I don't deserve this."

Actually the tern she was likely searching for was cruel and unusual but we'll give her a break as she is likely pretty shaken up as this is real life and not just another skit for the 'Simple Life.'

Momma Hilton is not happy either. According to Hollywood.com Kathy, who joined the hotel heiress in court with her husband Rick, has voiced her anger at the shocking sentence, which was handed down to Paris for driving her Bentley with a suspended license in February.

She fumes, "This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with this nonsense. It's a joke." Joke or no, barring a successful and speedy appeal, Paris begin her jail stint at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Los Angeles County on June 5.
