Paris Hilton to Phone in to Court, But May Be Shipped Back to Jail
Paris Hilton has a new court date with an angry judge. The socialite was excused after three to five days of serving due to a medical condition. She was able to parlay a rash (or emotional problems, reports vary) into an early release. Paris is out of the Lynwood Century Regional Detention Facility and sent back to her Hollywood Hills home to serve her original sentence under house arrest. That sparked outrage.

People called talk shows, newspapers wrote editorials and the judge and the attorneys chimed in. Outrage is widespread that Paris is getting special treatment. “The city attorney filed a petition for an order to show cause why the sheriff should not be held in contempt for releasing Ms. Hilton, and demanded that she be held in custody,” Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini said yesterday afternoon.

TMZ notes that local officials continued to shake their heads at the heiress' treatment, with L.A. County Supervisor Mike Antonovich calling her release, says the New York Post, "a mockery of due process." He added, "You're dealing with a spoiled brat acting out to get her way instead of serving time as was adjudicated by the courts."
The latest break will make it worse - A spokesman from the Los Angeles County Superior Court has announced that Paris Hilton will be allowed to appear by phone this morning, instead of having to face the judge in person. She's phoning it in!

Now the question - does she go back to jail or continue to hang out in the Hilton Hollywood Hills mansion and lounge around with an ankle bracelet for the next 45 days.
