Will former American Idol judge Paula Abdul sign on for Dancing with the Stars? The Scoop from MSNBC notes that even though a stint as a contestant on DWTS is not Abdul's dream gig - she might be willing to give the show a season, for a bigger role and a chance for development with the network.

"She's been wanting to make her mark on a network long term," said a source close to Abdul told the gossip column. "She's had reality shows and such, but she hasn't had one place to develop the Paula brand."

The source adds that she may consider a season on the ABC TV reality TV show giant as a "trade-off" to bigger and better things.


More reality TV...British X Factor stars Jedward have signed a deal with Sony Music to release their first single with Vanilla Ice. John and Edward Grimes, 18, will release Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby), featuring 90s star Vanilla Ice on January 31.

The adorable twin act that stormed The X Factor despite really bad vocals looks set for stardom, having signed with Louis Walsh. Vanilla will no doubt add to their offering.


Jedward said: "A year ago, we were training for cross-country competitions and now like our idols, we are living our dream – we really can't believe that we have a single out and are performing with Vanilla Ice."

Walsh said: "As Under Pressure was the track that catapulted the boys to fame, it seemed only fitting to release the song as their first single." The boys performed the single at the star-studded National Television Awards in London this week.
