Phil Rudd - AC/DC Drummer Accused of Hiring Hitman - Real Life Dirty Deeds?
Is this a real life case of the AC/DC song ' Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap?' (Watch the video below for the song).
Police believe so - AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been charged with trying to have two men killed.
The 60-year-old musician's home in New Zealand was raided on Thursday (06.11.14) morning and he appeared in Tauranga district court later in the day over allegations of attempting to procure murder, threatening to kill and possession of cannabis and methamphetamine.
Rudd - who wore no shoes in court - didn't speak during the court appearance and has been bailed until 27 November, with the terms of his bail including having to stay in Tauranga and have no contact with anyone relating to the procuring murder charge.
According to court documents, Rudd is accused of attempting to hire one person to kill two others between 25 September and 26 September, and threatening to kill a complainant on 26 September.
The rocker was recently absent from promotional photographs for the group's new album 'Rock or Bust' - their first new record in six years - and was not a part of two video shoots in the last few months.
Singer Brian Johnson reportedly told fans at one of the shoots that the drummer was missing due to a ''family emergency''.
Rudd joined AC/DC in 1975 but was dropped in 1983. He rejoined in 1994.
