Baby Maxwell Drew - Aww! or Eww?

The picture of Jessica Simpson's baby Maxwell Drew in a bikini shown on television this week (pictured above) sparked a lot of controversy.

The singer-and-actress gave birth to daughter Maxwell four months ago and appeared on Katie Couric's new talk show 'Katie', showing off a photo of her baby girl in a yellow crochet bikini saying "She's posing! It's her very first time to put on a bikini."

British child welfare organization Kidscape criticized the photo, accusing Simpson of sexualizing her baby girl with the "inappropriate" outfit.

Online comments were mixed.

Some delivered furious responses and accusations similar to the Kidscape comment above, others said the controversy was ridiculous and commented that baby Maxwell looked cute.

During the show, Jess also said to Katie that she loved being a new mom.

''Motherhood is a dream. It really is absolutely amazing. [Maxwell] had her first flight yesterday. Did not sleep! She didn't cry. She just wanted to babble.''

One reason why Jessica is finding first time motherhood so easy is because she believes her fiance Eric Johnson is the ''best dad in the world'' so she can always turn to him for help and advice.

She explained: ''People call him the best dad in the world. Even my dad calls him that! He can do everything. He can change every diaper . . . he's just a very peaceful person.''

Jessica has signed a four million dollar deal with Weight Watchers to drop her baby weight and while she says she still has 10 pounds to go, the star finds it easy to incorporate exercise into her day because she brings Maxwell with her.

She explained: ''I basically take her with me, whether it's strapping her on me or strolling around the neighborhood.''
