Pink has taken up a new hobby – knitting.

The singer is currently taking some time out from her music career to care for her eight-week-old daughter Willow Sage, her first child with husband Carey Hart, and has been taught by one of her friends how to make her own clothes with wool.

Pink wrote on her twitter page: "My friend @KerriKenney taught me how to knit this past week. this scarf i'm working on is so good i may just slap her with it. on her face. (sic)"

The 'So What' singer has been enjoying every aspect of motherhood so far, although she admits parenthood has had a negative effect on her time-keeping.

In another tweet, she said: "I haven't been on time in 6 weeks."

Earlier this month, Pink revealed she and Carey had named their daughter after an "unbreakable" tree because they liked the meaning behind the moniker.

The 31-year-old pop star said: "It is the most flexible tree and nothing can break it - no wind, no elements. It can bend and withstand anything. I love that sentiment and I want that for her.

"Sage is cleansing and sacred and it sounds great with Willow. It doesn't hurt that her last name is Hart - flexible, cleansed heart."
