'Precious' Star Gabourey Sidibe is slated to make a move to TV and star in Showtime's new dark comedy, "The Big C," reports NBC Philadelphia. Industry reports note that "The Big C" will begin shooting its 13-episode season in May and will air at the end of summer on the pay channel designed for cable and satellite television.

The actress previously guest starred in the series' pilot episode. Sidibe's star has soared with the film 'Precious' as the 26-year old actress was plucked from obscurity to play an illiterate schoolgirl impregnated by her stepfather.


At the Oscars this weekend...Precious star Gabourey Sidibe raved about her own outfit as she attended the Academy Awards for the first time.

She said: "Let me tell you something about this dress. Now, if fashion was porn, then this dress is the money shot. You know it." Sidibe added that she is still starstruck at awards shows.

"This isn't normal," she said. "I'm a normal person in a fantasy world - this is crazy."
