Rex Ryan Position on Darrelle Revis Trade?
What's the Rex Ryan position on a possible Darrelle Revis trade?
The always opinionated head coach of the New York Jets has responded to trade rumors that seem to rise from CBS Sports reporter and NFL Insider Jason La Canfora who earlier reported the Jets would explore options to trade the star corner.
Ryan says there is no trade yet.
"Plain and simple, it's not accurate. I told [Revis] that," Ryan told CBS Sports.
Revis was stunned at the news he was on the block.
The NY Daily News notes the "cap-strapped Jets do not figure to be in the playoff conversation entering the 2013 season."
The paper adds that it would make sense to dump Revis's $6 million yearly salary as "they aren’t likely to make a splash when free agency opens next month either, as they quietly try to rebuild with younger, cheaper players."
The Jets cornerback is coming off a torn ACL that cost him most of last season.
Should New York trade the star corner and what is the most they could get for the defensive back?
