Rihanna Embarrassment - Interview Reveals Feelings About Chris Brown
By Lee Brown
Nov 5, 2009
Rihanna welled up as she told of her "embarrassment" at falling for a man who beat her. In her first TV interview about Chris Brown's attack, the Umbrella star spoke of her irrational feelings of shame that she was "so far in love" with an abuser.

And she admitted that her love for Brown was "so unconditional" she went back to him, only now admitting she was "lying" to herself in the hope it would delete the horrific memory of the beating. Rihanna found the strength to dump Brown when she realized other abused girls were looking to her as their example. "When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result into some young girl getting killed - I could not be easy with that part," she said, tears welling in her eyes and her voice cracking.

"I couldn't be held responsible for telling them go back. I just didn't realize how much of an impact I had on these young girls' lives until that happened. "It was a wake-up call for me - big time." She says it is only now that she raelizes her safety and pride is far more important than love.
"I will say that to any young girl who is going through domestic violence. 'Don't react off love. F- love'," she said. Brown is serving community service over the attack - and also working on new music, with his new album Graffiti set to hit stores on December 15. Rihanna's own new album Rated R is due on November 23.
