Superstar Rihanna released Russian Roulette, a new single that premiered on her website overnight. The release is the first since February, when Rihanna was assaulted by Chris Brown, her ex-boyfriend, on the night before the Grammy Awards.

Brown has since been convicted of assault and ordered to serve out probation, heavy duty community service and undergo domestic violence counselling.


He is subject to a restraining order to stay away from Rihanna. Observers of Rihanna have noted her flirting with different looks and styles in recent weeks as she moves forward from the trauma of earlier events.

Russian Roulette was written and produced by rapper Ne-Yo. The song will appear on the upcoming Rated R, which is Rihanna's fourth studio release. Def Jam Records will release Rated R on November 23.
