Director Robert Rodriguez has admitted Lindsay Lohan has been offered a part in his new movie Machete. The Grindhouse director's new flick already has Danny Trejo and Michelle Rodriguez signed up. Talking about the flick, he said: "These things come together very quickly. We're casting right now, and the script just came out great."

A three-minute trailer was recently released, and he said he was happy with the way it had been received. The film is about a "set-up, double-crossed and left for dead" illegal immigrant who "knows the score, gets the women... and kills the bad guys!" Rodriguez said: "I was thinking it had to live up to the trailer, because the trailer was so well received. But [the script] far surpassed the trailer."


Rodriguez, 41, said most of the cast hasn't been decided yet but they have sent the script out to a number of people. He said: "We've cast nobody but Danny and Michelle Rodriguez, but we've sent the script out to a lot of people."

He added: "There are a lot of people we're sending it to, big names - but nobody that we've signed yet." Rodriguez said Lindsay Lohan is said to be considering a role in the flick: "There's actually a cool part in the movie for her - if she takes it."
