Are the rankings tanking on 'The View'? Rosie O'Donnell has always desperately tried to latch on to bigger stars, bigger shows and bigger issues but as of late it appears that she has a tin foil hat placed on her head and even hanging upside down won't remove it. Apparently she has been given the green light by once respected journalist Barbara Walters to now spout fringe theories and her latest is a doozy. On the air and on her blog Rosie believes that the British soldiers now being held hostage by Iran wanted to be captured. On her blog Rosie writes: "The British did it on purpose."

That will make the news, Rosie bragged on the show on Thursday. Facts are meaningless, Rosie just likes seeing her name on the air and online as she willingly displays her ignorance by parroting the most fringe elements of the world wide web. Her crackpot theories of late are captured fairly well by Town Hall columnist and blogger Lorie Byrd.

In the past week alone, Rosie O'Donnell has shared the following with the audience of "The View" (quotes via Newsbusters):

On the U.S. Attorney firings: "Okay, Republican officials who supposedly called these judges that were fired and said, are you going to prosecute this Democratic, and they said, I can't talk about that because I'm actually a judge, and it's illegal. And they said "click," and they got fired."…That's mob tactics. That's Tony Soprano. We're going to lean on people. That's what the president's doing. That's scary.”

On the British sailors held hostage by Iran: "But interesting with the British sailors, there were 15 British sailors and Marines who apparently went into Iranian waters and they were seized by the Iranians. And I have one thing to say: Gulf of Tonkin, Google it. Okay."… "In a no bid contract for 5 years Halliburton -- wait a second -- 16 billion dollars. You want to know why we would go into Iran? For the money. That's why we would do it."

"Nearly everyone in this administration is under indictment or suspicion. Nearly every person. From Karl Rove to Rumsfeld to Gonzalez. What do you have to do to be impeached in this country?"

She is plain a simple a person that hates anyone and everyone that believes in the American principle of peace through strength and believes that America has a right to defend itself against attacks. After bragging that the elections in 2006 'sent a message' the dopey O'Donnell added on Thursday, "Democracy is threatened in a way it hasn't been in 200 years and if America doesn't stand up we're in big trouble."

Uh-huh. Congratulations on making the news Rosie.
