Rosie O'Donnell Calls for the Impeachment of President Bush

Jan 24, 2007

Rosie O'Donnell may be getting desperate. The resident shock jock at 'The View' called for the impeachment of President George W. Bush on Wednesday claiming that America is now a monarchy and that Bush was running the country as a dictator. Perhaps she missed the November elections or the fact that Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and several other democrats have announced they are considering running for president in 2008.

Rosie confessed that she hoped this would start a 'celebrity feud' or get her name mentioned in an 'AOL poll' but certainly doesn't quite understand the electoral process used in America.

As we have elections in this country it is quite obvious that Bush isn't a dictator and has but two years left as president until another politician will deliver the State of the Union in January of 2009. That person will be elected in November of 2008.

Ratings bump for the attack show aside, O'Donnell is turning out to be quite the dim bulb. And with her recent attacks on Oprah, her bigoted comments about Asiansand now calling for the impeachment of President Bush to 'send a message to the rest of the world' (yep that's what she said) it appears that she is running out of material, and perhaps never really dabbled in a civics class.

It is rumored that Rosie is displaying her ignorance each day not only for an 'AOL poll' mentionand another 'celeb fued' , but she apparently wishes to have her own show. TV week says Rosie has a clause in her contract saying that after a certain amount of time she can leave for her own show (though the contract also says that she has to negotiate with the Walt Disney Company -- ABC is owned by Disney -- before she goes anywhere else).

Barbara Walters sold out her credibility for a 13% bump in ratings of a morning chat show. With each passing day, Rosie makes more and more statements that she hopes shocks and gets her publicity and if the report from TV Week is correct - to get her own show.

For Walters' legacy, she'd better hope that's true.
