Rosie O'Donnell to NBC's Today Show?
Rosie O'Donnell took Barbra Walters from a 'serious reporter and interviewer' to a laughingstock in less than a year. Rosie swiped Walters show 'the view' and made it all about Rosie and her radical conspiracy theories. Among her wild speculation on the show - the crackpot 9/11 conspiracy theories, and the idea that the British sailors that were captured and held hostage did it on purpose so that American and the UK could invade Iran.
She was a train wreck - but a train wreck with a following. She bumped the ratings of the show with her shock jock behavior. Now can she drag NBC's Today show to that level as well?
According to Newsbusters, nightly syndicated entertainment news show Access Hollywood's co-anchor Nancy O'Dell on Friday advanced idle speculation about how “we have new information about her possibly joining the Today show.”
Matt Lauer quickly nixed that. Access reported - When asked about possibility of O'Donnell joining NBC in September, as they extend the Today show with a fourth hour, Lauer said, "I think she may be a little controversial for the fourth hour of the Today show. With a new show, we kind of have to walk a little bit of a tighter line than she's used to walking. It might work well for us; I don't know how well it would work for Rosie."
