The woman that made headlines as the "runaway bride" says she has found true love, a report from NBC's Today Show reveals. Jennifer Wilbanks, who fled altar in 2005 and falsely claimed that she had been kidnapped is using some social networking to tout her new guy.
Wilbanks is now on Facebook and says she is in love, but was the center of a media frenzy in 2005 when, in order to avoid her wedding with John Mason, she fled, telling no one she was running away.
Her disappearance sparked a nationwide search and intensive media coverage, and after days on the road running, she finally ran out of money and called police from New Mexico, making the false claims.
Her wedding was scheduled in Georgia and the aftermath was an absolute mess of charges and counter-charges and lawsuits flying up and down the court docket, demanding money.
In the end, she paid some restitution and the courts finally settled on two years' probation.
Her man has moved on - Wilbanks's ex-fiancé, John Mason, married another woman, Shelley Martin, in a quiet ceremony in 2008.
Now NBC reveals Jennifer Wilbanks, now 37, writes she's been dating twice-married, twice-divorced landscaper Greg Hutson since early in 2009.
Video and more details on the woman dubbed the "Runaway Bride."
On her Facebook love report, she also shares some photos, including one in which they wear matching khaki-and-blue getups, reports Us Magazine.
